UPDATE: Telegram confirms current connection issues, studying problems

(Adds comment from Durov in paragraph 3)

MOSCOW, Mar 29 (PRIME) -- Popular messenger Telegram has confirmed some troubles in the work of the service in Europe, the Middle East and CIS countries, including Russia, and is studying the issue, Telegram said in a Twitter post on Thursday.

“Our users in Europe, Middle East and CIS countries are experiencing connection issues at the moment. We are looking into the issue and hope to bring you back online soon,” the post read.

Telegram’s founder Pavel Durov said on Twitter, “Power outage at a @telegram server cluster causing issues in Europe. Working to fix it from our side, but a lot depends on when the datacenter provider puts the power equipment in order.”

Earlier on Thursday, users from a number of countries, including Italy, Germany, Russia and Ukraine face troubles in the service’s work.
